Description
Up for auction is this terrific and very rare WWII era German Parteiadler eagle flag topper. The "Parteiadler" or "Party Eagle" was used by German Nazi party officials in parades and propaganda for party affiliated events. It was used from 1933-1945. It is distinguished by the eagle looking over its' left shoulder. It features Nazi German style wings and its tongue out. Many of these eagles have a Nazi symbol below it, but this one does not, making it legal to sell on eBay. This eagle is used opposed to the "Reichsader" eagle, which was made between 1935-1942 for mostly military use. That eagle is distinguished by looking over its' right shoulder. The eagle flag topper we are selling is made of a light metal, either zinc (white metal) or aluminum, with a bronze/brass finish. It measures about 8 3/4 inches long and 5 1/4 inches tall, including attaching screw on the bottom. The eagle is standing on a "T" shaped branch. In nice condition with only minimal wear, commensurate and expected with the vintage age of the piece. Metal exhibits a great age patina! No manufacturers markings, quite common with a piece like this!! A great piece in great shape offered with NO RESERVE!!Please see our other flag topper (US Civil War era) on eBay at this time!!
