    Description

WWII German Death Card, 42 Year Old Soldier, DIED A YEAR AFTER THE WAR ENDED IN RUSSIA
    DESCRIPTION:
Original WWII German Death card for "Karl Haupl, sawyer in civilian life, who DIED IN FEB. 1946 in the Cisnoja MILITARY PRISON in Russia.".
Nice photo in uniform. A bad end for many older prisoners who could not stand the rigors of a POW camp, especially the older ones. Hitler was conscripting very old and very young men by the end of the war, and this demonstrates it. And many German prisoners were still in Russian prisoners even more than 3 YEARS AFTER THE WAR ENDED.
This provides a name and a face to a soldier who was caught up in this situation and who would otherwise be a forgotten statistic.
I follow ebay's rules strictly, and no bids will be accepted from Germany, Austria, France, or any other places where it is unlawful to ship to.
I try to collect and sell only unique and higher quality WWII and WWI soldier memorial cards rather than the more common ones usually seen on ebay.
