    Description

You are bidding on a SUPERB Trench Art example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe Propeller Blade!  Made from a section of Ju88 propeller, it was recovered from an aircraft that presumably crashed at Fliegerhorst Zeltweg.  Sadly, I do not have any further history.
In 1935, an airfield was planned to be constructed in the middle of Styria, Austria.  A year later, construction began, and in late 1937 the first training unit (Schulgeschwader) was stationed there, and the airbase named "Fliegerhorst Zeltweg".  On March 13, 1938 the airfield was handed over to the German Luftwaffe. They used the station as a training base for twin-engine aircraft, specifically the Ju88, Ju86, and Do17 . In the last months of World War 2, JG 300 "Wilde Sau" was stationed there, just before the Ukraine Army began to occupy the region.  The airfield was later handed back to the British Government and the 26th Infantry Division, as well as the Royal Air Force were stationed there until 1955.
Made of solid duraluminum, this is an AMAZING example!
Though there are some slight marks and wear, it is VERY solid with no damage or corrosion!
Easily recognizable as a Ju88 Propeller Model, it is approx. 6" in diameter. Fully engraved on the reverse, it indicates:
    FLIEGERHORST ZELTWEG
    JU88
    MARZ 1943
Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!

    ------------------- ABOUT ME -----------------
Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
