    Description

Beautiful sweetmeat basket made by Thomas Harper I in London 1795.   The leaf engraved border is exquisite along with the engraved "dot" boarder on each sloping panel.   We do believe the monogram (which we read as MB) is a later addition - but would blame "MB" for wanting to let everyone know this was theres!
We did notice some small pings in the bowl which is expected after 225 years but nothing that detracts you from its charm.   While the handle is off-center, it is original to the piece.
It does have the appropriate hallmarks both on the basket and the handle as expected.
The bowl is 4 3/4" in length 3 inches wide and stands 3 1/2" tall without the handle upright and almost 5 1/2" with the upright handle.  It weighs 160.2 grams.
Based on customer preference, we only lightly polish our silver.
