Vintage Gowanda Bottling Works Soda Bottle w/ Laundry Water Sprinkler Top.
This once ubiquitous tool was a home essential before the home steam iron was available. The sprinkler head fit most soda or kerchup bottlea and  was used for sprinkling water into clothes before ironing. The water created steam when a hot iron was passed over the damp spots on the clothes...turning any iron into a steam iron!
When Tom was a boy, his Mom swore her boys were going to grow up able to do their own laundry, so he remembers using a similar water shaker to iron clothes in the mid to late 1960s.
Condition
is Good, Used. The bottle has no chips, cracks, breaks, noticeable scratches or wear, but has hard water stains inside.
The aluminum shaker is dented on the top, but still workable.
The cork is drying out and may need a bit of restorarion if you're looking to use this again....although if you're looking to display this piece, we think these issues actually make it more interesting and more likely to get viewers interested in the piece.
