    c1900 Frank Smith Ornate Sterling Silver Swing Handle Basket
    Presented is a fantastic Frank Smith sterling silver swing handle basket. This piece dates to circa 1900. The basket features an ornately pierced edge, with finely hand engraved detailing. The handle is done in a matching openwork design. At the four cardinal points around the side is a foliate enclosed in scrolls, beneath an applied acanthus leaf decoration. The basket rests on four cast foliate form feet.
    This piece is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no dents, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
    The basket is stamped on the underside with the maker's mark for Frank Smith as well as sterling and the number 3723.
    The basket measures about 11 ¾ by 10 1/8 by 3 inches, LxWxH. The height with the handle raised is 8 ¼ inches.
    This piece weighs 597 grams or 21.1 regular ounces.
